Who this course is for

If you come from a security background and want to specialize in one of the highest-paid, most cyclical-demand corners of the field — auditing smart contracts before they go live with real money attached — this course is built for that path. It builds on the Cryptography roadmap, so comfort with cryptographic fundamentals is assumed; Solidity and EVM- specific knowledge are taught from the ground up.

What you'll actually build

The course works through five auditor-specific skills, in order: reading and reasoning about Solidity and EVM execution well enough to spot subtle bugs, identifying the common exploit classes that keep recurring across real hacks — reentrancy, oracle manipulation, access control failures — using static analysis and formal verification tooling instead of relying on manual review alone, applying fuzzing and symbolic execution to contracts to find the bugs a human reviewer would miss, and writing a professional smart-contract audit report to the standard clients actually pay for. Every module pairs a concepts lesson with a hands-on exercise against a real or realistic contract.

The capstone

You finish by completing a full audit of an intentionally vulnerable contract — finding the real exploits and documenting them the way a paid audit engagement would require. This is the kind of work sample you could show a client or an employer directly.

Why this matters right now

Smart-contract auditing is consistently one of the highest-paid security specialties that exists, precisely because a missed vulnerability can mean millions of dollars lost in a single exploit — demand is cyclical with the broader crypto market, but the skill itself, reading contract code adversarially and proving it's safe, doesn't go away, and the tooling (static analysis, formal verification, fuzzing) covered here is what separates a professional audit from a manual code read-through.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need prior blockchain or Solidity experience before starting this course?

No specific Solidity experience is required — it's taught from the ground up in Module 1. You do need the Cryptography roadmap's worth of security fundamentals going in.

What subscription tier do I need?

Blockchain & Smart Contract Security requires a Professional (pro) tier subscription. Subscribing to Professional also unlocks every Core-tier course, not just this one.

How long does the course take?

18 hours across 6 modules — five core modules plus a capstone project. Each module pairs an 18-minute concepts lesson with a 35-minute hands-on exercise.

What do I actually build by the end?

A full audit of an intentionally vulnerable contract — finding and documenting real exploits to a professional standard, built as the capstone project.

Does the course cover audit-report writing, or just finding vulnerabilities?

Both. Module 5 is specifically about writing a professional smart-contract audit report — the deliverable that turns technical findings into something a client can actually act on.
